GTA VI on PC: Demanding Specifications Revealed

The official presentation of GTA VI left everyone enraptured and now we're talking about nothing else: here's what the PC requirements could be.

Years of rumors, speculations, denials, and leaks have been swept away with a minute-and-a-half film. Those who claimed that GTA VI's arrival on the market was still a long way off were probably better informed or had seen the long road ahead. The trailer presents all the typical elements of the game, making it clear that robberies will return, and Rockstar's usual attention is given to social criticism and the representation of today's America.

The graphic impact is something never seen in an open world. If we truly observe all those people on the screen, we find ourselves facing the most realistic and lively game ever created. The developer promises a level of interaction never seen before, and it is understandable why more time is needed to avoid disappointing expectations.

The fear at this point is that optimizing the code to prevent bugs from ruining the launch experience may require more time than initially indicated. On the other hand, the generic 2025 launch window allows for flexibility until the end of the year. If unexpected issues arise, there's a possibility that the release might be delayed even further.

GTA VI, on PC will only arrive at a later time: what could be the requirements

While GTA VI is still far from being released on the market, perhaps it's for the best, given the enormous expectations within the community and the promises Rockstar has made to its fans. Another aspect that must be considered is Rockstar's decision to postpone the PC launch.

Rockstar's decision to release the game initially only on consoles is closely tied to code optimization. Both Xbox and PS5 share a very similar hardware architecture, with a slightly more powerful processor in the case of the Microsoft console, and a faster SSD and a more developer-friendly CPU in the case of the Sony console (developers have been able to optimize games better on the Sony console since the beginning of the generation).

While it's true that consoles come with standard features, running on a PC typically requires something more. Given that the two consoles have a custom Ryzen octa-core CPU, a minimum requirement for a PC might be a Ryzen 5 5600X or an Intel i7 10700K.

As for the RAM, the minimum requirement will be around 16 gigabytes of DDR4, but it is better if you have 32 gigabytes. Now, let's move on to the graphics card. The minimum requirement could be an RTX 3060 Ti, but if you want the game to run in 4k or with Ray-Tracing (for both features, we have to aim higher), you probably won't be able to have less than a 3070 Ti or an RX 6800 XT.

And if you ask about the hard disk, it is of fundamental importance to have a sufficiently fast SSD with a minimum storage space of 150 gigabytes, and probably even more. If you have a slightly older PC, it might be time to consider an upgrade if you want to enjoy GTA VI when it finally lands in this world.
